Route Description

For the last 11 years, I have made this trip to the Sturgis Bike Rally. Some years with my late husband, Rick, trailering behind me. I have been riding now for that many years. The first few years, Rick would not let me ride "into" Sturgis because of the amount of traffic but I have since mastered it and enjoy it every year. This last year, I went by myself in his memory.

I love the ride through the Black Hills from Newcastle, WY to Rapid City, SD. This is one of the most scenic routes there are during the Rally. The entire ride is about 4 hours long. Many places to stop and eat and take a rest. I will never tire from this ride...I look forward to it every year. It brings back so many memories of Rick!
